Hot Shot (The Men Of The Sisterhood) By Fern Michaels
The Sisterhood: a group of women bound by friendship and a quest for justice. Now their male allies, the Men of the Sisterhood, have formed a top-secret organization of their own, with the same goal of helping the helpless and righting the wrongs of the world . . .
Loyalty is a way of life for the Sisterhood and their significant others. When lawyer Lizzie Fox’s husband, Cosmo Cricket, is left critically injured after being shot by an unknown assailant, the men of BOLO Consultants head straight for Las Vegas to comfort Lizzie—and to uncover a dangerous enemy in the City of Sin.
As head of Nevada’s Gaming Commission, Cosmo has powerful enemies. Yet the shooting seems to be related to one of his private projects. Built in the desert outside Las Vegas, Happy Village is a flourishing community for seniors who have lost a spouse. Cosmo’s widowed father found new purpose in running the venture. But the neighborhood that’s now home to Happy Village was once run by rival gangs, a complicated past that has come to haunt the place. Jack, Harry, and the rest of the crew need to remove the threat, risking everything to take on a vicious and mysterious gang leader known only as Hot Shot. And while the men of the Sisterhood fight for justice for their friend, Cosmo is fighting for his life—and the stakes have never been higher . . .

#So fascinating you don't want to put it down. All the men and 1 girl head to Law Vegas when Lizzies husband is shot. They find a serious problem at Happy Village, where the shooting occurred. This was due to a major horror due to greed of his co-owner. Cosmo and his co-owner created Happy Village as a place for one of echoes parent to leave after the death of one of their parents.
This was a great plan until Cosmo's partner turned his greed into the tenants that his mother had enjoyed. Residents started to disappear leaving there apartment exactly as they had been.
The men's group plus one girl took charge of the problem as Cosmo fought for his life with Lissie at his side. It led to learning horrific things in the deep dark web. This group deteriorated a way to stop the problem despite the horror of what had been exposed to.
#I've read the other books in this series and this was the most disappointing. Slow, almost quit reading a third of the way through. Also, Fern is getting more and political in her books. She is pro Republican and pro Trump. It comes out glaringly multiple times. A complete turn off. Will not be buying or reading any more of her books moving forward.
#I have read every book in this series, Women and Men, this was by far the best of the Men.
It had so many twists and turns. I enjoyed the parts at Happy Village, it showed the soft side of the characters. The story also had the good guys in the gang, it was a heartwarming display of how bad guys can become our friends and protectors.
I am already looking forward to the next chapter in the Men of the Sisterhood
